In front of a cafe, sipping on a hot drink, you may see Cyril, pen in hand and scribbling notes. Unlike the last time you might have seen Cyril, he looks... put together. Probably moreso than he has in a while. His hair is the obnoxious 'trimmed but I'm wearing it messy anyway', face clean shaven, and his eyes seem to be a rather intense blue. But, most bizarrely, he's dressed in ancient Babylonian-esque clothes, dyed brilliant blues and purple.

If looked at closer, he's leaving small scorch marks on his cup and pen. Occasionally he will look up from his notes and look around, as if he's nervous or waiting for something. Maybe it's you! It's probably not you, but you should bother him anyway, he probably hasn't seen anyone in months.

Uh-- fine. They're both good. Sanko's been doin' good with school, things've been calm, things like that.

"Sweet! Glad yer still keepin' on keepin' on with the relatively normal lifestyle." He cackles at that last part.

"What gave it 'way? The outfit, my grin? Fuck, I THINK I'm gonna be on a date, Shades. Ah, shit, I ain't felt this good in ages, maybe not even since a bit after I got my first body after that nonsense with Briar."

He stretches upwards, back popping.

"Man, I've been back fer like two days this go 'round, an' it's already shapin' up ta be good. Ya got a bit, Shades, or am I keepin' ya?

Th' normal part's almost surreal at this point. An' a little borin'. But borin' is better than bein' screwed around with, yeah?

*... he snirks a bit*

A date? I think 'd be th' one keepin' ya then. But no, I was just walkin' home, that's all.

"Ah, I'll make 'urried shooin' motions an' catch ya later if I see 'er comin'. I mean, as normal as it gets 'ere. I can imagine if ya moved out where it's less weird ya an' Kurochi'd go mad."

But I don't think 'd ever wanna move 'way from 'ere anyway, 'less th' place was gonna explode or somethin'. Explosions're generally bad f' one's health.

"In keepin' with tradition, in reappearin', there was a girl pretty close. Asked 'er ta coffee once I got twelve dimensions muck offa me. 'parently she's some sorta ice skatin' action duelist? Escher?"

Wha-- oh! That girl. She's th' one who did an Accel Synchro on skates durin' th' tournament.

"Yeah, 'er. I thought that was cooler than shit. ...Uh, didn't know 'oo she was 'till I looked 'er up."

T' be fair, I don't think anyone know who she was 'fore th' tournament.

Which actually is kinda funny, since I thought everyone in this was veterans. But, eh. *he shrugs*

She's obviously got a lot 'f 'xperience, with th' way she was movin'.

"Tha's kinda weird." He frowns at the thought of 'been dueling and skating for a while.' Frowns... shrugs. Overthinking is the enemy.

"Maybe she got picked up by people fer showin' some talent, gave the Su-...Yuki a run fer 'is money."

Yeah, she really stood 'gainst 'im pretty well, all things considered.

I mean, she still lost, but that could've gone either way.

"Do ya even duel much anymore, Shades?"

When would I even get a chance t'. *he says that half-serious, but then shakes his head*

Nah, I sorta fell outta doin' it t' any real use. I still duel a bunch 'gainst Sanko though since she needs it for assignments.

Honestly, I kinda miss Ridin' Duels more than anythin' else, but they're not really in style anymore.

"Fuckin' 'ell Shades, the ogre kept my bike. Once I get, uh... my deck all sorted back out, y'wanna at least go ridin' fer a bit? Maybe a duel or two?"

I wonder if Speed World even works still with th' updates an' th' interface...

"Well, only one way ta find out. Man, we can try an' make ridin' action duels."

... T'be fair, I did have a thought on that.

But Action Duels are still all confined t' arenas. I wish they could figure out a way t' just... make 'em with duel disks.

"Ya put a track in the arena, boom, ya, me, an' the other twelve people in the world 'oo miss ridin' duels can 'ave 'em."

Y'know, 'd dispute that, but that prob'ly is th' rough amount 'f folks who're left who'd wanna spend money on gas, now that Momentum is kaput.

"Ugh, that kinda sucks. Fuckin' paradigm shifts. Man, can ya imagine if it takes ta long? Gotta stop fer pit stops, fuel back up."

Kinda like one of those big car races, yeah.

It's why I was thinkin' 'bout how Action Duels could work in it. Did y'know people ride monsters in those things?

"...What? No, I didn't! That's fuckin' sweet. 'oly shit, I'm prolly jus' gonna get back an' binge watch action duels. Huh." He lets out another laugh.

"'ow the 'ell do we spirits work if we summon ourselves to the field with that shit?"

I don't think anyone's gotten t' try yet. Action Duelin' is really new. 'pparently it's been a thing in a city called Maiami, an' they probably didn't have spirits an' all wanderin' 'bout like 'ere.
