In front of a cafe, sipping on a hot drink, you may see Cyril, pen in hand and scribbling notes. Unlike the last time you might have seen Cyril, he looks... put together. Probably moreso than he has in a while. His hair is the obnoxious 'trimmed but I'm wearing it messy anyway', face clean shaven, and his eyes seem to be a rather intense blue. But, most bizarrely, he's dressed in ancient Babylonian-esque clothes, dyed brilliant blues and purple.

If looked at closer, he's leaving small scorch marks on his cup and pen. Occasionally he will look up from his notes and look around, as if he's nervous or waiting for something. Maybe it's you! It's probably not you, but you should bother him anyway, he probably hasn't seen anyone in months.

"...What? No, I didn't! That's fuckin' sweet. 'oly shit, I'm prolly jus' gonna get back an' binge watch action duels. Huh." He lets out another laugh.

"'ow the 'ell do we spirits work if we summon ourselves to the field with that shit?"

I don't think anyone's gotten t' try yet. Action Duelin' is really new. 'pparently it's been a thing in a city called Maiami, an' they probably didn't have spirits an' all wanderin' 'bout like 'ere.

"Then I aim ta be the first. ...kinda reminds me of what we did in the ol' days, honestly."

He frowns at that, then shrugs.

"Eh, Earth is shiftin'. Give it a few more decades an' most cities 'r gonna be like Domino now."

Prob'ly. It'll be kinda funny when that eventually happens.

Though right now I think folks outside'a Domino are a little wary on monsters.

"I mean, gonna shoot straight 'ere. I dun blame 'em. Some of us nutbars that 'ang out 'ere ain't exactly stable. Or safe sometimes."

Yeah, but 'm talkin' 'bout a specific reasonin'.

"... What kinda specific reasonin'?"

There was this city called Heartland. Point 'f that sentence bein' "was".

Thing is, it got really suddenly attacked a while back. No one knows what really did it, but a lot 'f th' news outlets blamed monsters f' it.

It kinda cooled down since then, an' one 'f th' survivors 'f th' whole mess was a reporter and wrote a bunch 'f stuff arguin' 'gainst those claims. But folks're still buyin' that initial wave 'f news, y'know?

"Oh. ... fuck."

He rubs his face at that news, sighing.

"Guess that was... one o' the things I missed while I was fuckin' 'round the twelve dimensions or runnin' through South America."

I think that was th' South America point 'f y'life, prob'ly.

But yeah, it was a real weird thing. Even weirder that it seemed t' start an' end like, almost instantly? Nothin' else happened after that.

"... Huh. I'll... look inta it. Pretty sure some 'round 'ere put a stop ta somethin' o'er there an' the fallout was jus'... messy."

One would only hope.

It was a real mess, that's f'sure. I know a few folks from that ended up settlin' 'round 'ere, but I don't know 'em m'self.

"Yeah, well, can't know e'ryone in a town this size."

Pretty much. More just sayin' if y'were curious, I got no real leads on 'em.

"Ah, the internet's been my way ta go with this sorta shit. I've got some 'omework ta be doin' anyway."

"I'm tryin' ta pick up more shit on this action dueling. Maybe... see if somethin' inspires me more, but I think those're all gonna be people and self-revelations fer more o' my deck."

"Gonna be honest. I ain't ever thought ta question 'ow my soul makes decks."

I feel like there'd prob'ly be someone who does know, but not off th' top 'f m' head.

"Actually, after the last few days of jus'... bein' 'round 'ere, talkin' ta people? I've 'ad more luck making shit than I did with months of walkin' 'round, starin' sadly."

... Maybe bein' here is good f'ya.

"...'m beginnin' ta remember that, yeah. Now that the las' bit o' nonsense is done an' I'm over it, 's real good fer me."
