Okay which of ya idiots 'round here was tapping into the Azure Flames? That stuff's not meant for any sorcerer or whatever ta go mucking 'round in. 's real dangerous stuff fer literally e'ryone who ain't me. People've tried and probably blown themselves up while I was takin' my nearly dying nap. I'm 'ere ta make sure ya city ain't on fire and maybe help put down whatever idiot's tryin' ta tap inta it.

It's late morning. The sun is shining, and there is a man on foot in Domino, cursing 'damned brats' and 'I left my bike in an intentionally safe place with boring people'. He's maybe investigating screams somewhere, that sound like a man being thrown through the sky. Or maybe he's just lost. The city got bigger and weirder since the last time he was here.

Oh, it's fine, I got rid of at least half of my different kinds of shady, so I'll probably get away unscathed for the most part!

But yes! Definitely a lot of shades. But it's all better now, no worries there. Relatedly, you haven't seen any weird markings around the city at any point, while I've got your attention, have you?

Cyril does not like that. He also doesn't like with this, there's two foxes married into the family. Probably says something. Best to not think about it. Also, another clearly insane and creepy sorcerer. Great.

"Huh. Maybe? I ain't got eyes 'nuff like that ta tell one way or another. Always thought it was Cloudians myself."

He stops at that last statement and crosses his arms.

"Not... really? What would they look like?"

*he produces a notebook page from his pocket and opens it, showing several sketched out markings of various design, but you can likely tell they're formed from an educated mish-mash of different sources of ancient magic.*

Any of these look familiar, in particular? They might be on the ground, or on large enough stones, or even the sides of buildings.

"They look familiar, but not 'cause I've seen 'em 'ere, but 'cause they're ol' shit. A buncha ol' shit, actually, pretty well put together. I ain' got great skill fer anythin' outside o' my domain, but I bet they'd work.

I'm Cyril, by the way. I'll keep an eye out fer yer markings. Did ya... put them down yerself?"

And yes, they're technically my own design, refined together from a lot of years of research. And while I think I've scratched out most of them, I've probably lost track of a few of them due to no active fault of my own.

So, trying to make sure I sweep through the city a few times. Part of my community clean-up, if you will.

He very obviously doesn't believe you.

"If I see one, I can jus' like, disrupt it? Or is it gonna need a more skilled hand than jus' 'making the area ash'?"

Oh, if you see one at all, you can do whatever is possible to deface it, I just need the lines broken or otherwise unconnected so any errant magic won't go off and summon horrible monsters or whatever happened I wasn't seeing when it did happen. While I was getting rid of the top 18 levels of shadiness.

That's actually a step-up from most sorcerers I've met, so he gets a blue star.

I try to at least not be cartoonishly evil, I can say that much!

I'm usually working with SAI or at Duel Academy as a historical consultant, so I'm pretty easy to find. Or just find the platinum blonde fellow that tries to follow me and thinks he's being stealthy about it, that's simple too.

Oh, no, he's very skilled.

He's more likely to yell or try to shoot you or something with an arrow, but you seem like someone who'd be pretty good at dodging that.

Also he'll probably be able to smell you, first. He seems to have a weird thing about that!

Cyril bursts out laughing at that, giving a glance up to where the voice came from and gives a big thumbs up.

"Oh, I dun give a shit why, honestly. Good ears on the kid, but 'e could be way less impulsive."

I think he's been a little on-edge really! His Dragon went and outed him or something? I didn't get to see it, I was comatose in the hospital. Normal stuff. *that's not normal.* But it's one of his obligations to keep an eye on me due to that.

"Ugh, the dragons all suck, 'cept one. So I can't blame the kid fer bein' on edge constantly. Ya'd think there was more things he could do..." A pause.

"Yeah, I've been beat up an' missed important stuff ta, so, yeah. Normal stuff. But, if I was the kid, I'd be keepin' an eye on ya, an' scouting 'round ta make sure those markings wouldn't work anymore. Ya could do both, couldn't ya?"

Oh, he's already done that, actually!

See, he already knows where all of the major markings were, and got rid of them after they did their "job" as it were. The markings I'm concerned about are more random ones-- used for feeding, if you will.

He makes such a face when feeding is brought up.

"Ugh, that... yeah, I'll definitely keep an eye out for those, Tarou."

Wonderful! I really appreciate it. Of course, I'll still be looking, myself. I can't ignore my obligations or anything like that.
