In front of a cafe, sipping on a hot drink, you may see Cyril, pen in hand and scribbling notes. Unlike the last time you might have seen Cyril, he looks... put together. Probably moreso than he has in a while. His hair is the obnoxious 'trimmed but I'm wearing it messy anyway', face clean shaven, and his eyes seem to be a rather intense blue. But, most bizarrely, he's dressed in ancient Babylonian-esque clothes, dyed brilliant blues and purple.

If looked at closer, he's leaving small scorch marks on his cup and pen. Occasionally he will look up from his notes and look around, as if he's nervous or waiting for something. Maybe it's you! It's probably not you, but you should bother him anyway, he probably hasn't seen anyone in months.

"Only since the public start? Ain't been that long... yer pretty fuckin' good at it." He opens his mouth. Not been very open about WHAT he was an authority figure of. Or anything besides maybe a bossman of some sort.

"Do ya mean ya got ice like I got fire?"

Possibly. I think fire might encompass you more than ice encompasses me, just as a guess.

But I can create ice. I use it to my advantage.

He nods, girl's astute. ... maybe scarily so. But those are thoughts to chew on later, or never.

"Now I'm jus' wonderin' why ya jus' dun skate e'rywhere ya go."

I'm an entertainer. If I'm going to use something to my advantage, then I should save it for when I have an audience.

... Besides, it's been summer out. Not exactly the best conditions for skating everywhere when it's not necessary.

"Yeah, I guess that makes sense. No sense in lettin' people know yer e'ry advantage. Also, at least fall's startin', an' it's gonna be nice from 'ere on out."

[crystaline]

Thankfully. I certainly decided to come at a good time, here. Perhaps it's fate.

"Ah, maybe." He pauses, seemingly chewing on what he's going to say next.

[crystaline]

So.

What do you do?

Don't tell her you're a deposed king, don't tell her you're a deposed king living off the charity and good will of the single worst human being you have ever met and he's probably making bets on how you fuck this one up and when you first got this body you wanted to be Dante.

... don't lie to her either, this is going well.

"... So, uh. Mostly." A scowl. "Archaeology."

Oh, archaeology? So do you travel a lot?

[azuremagma]

"A whole lot." He scowls again.

"Alright, jus' gonna lay this all out. So ya've picked up I'm a fire spirit. If I ain't 'round 'ere I'm picking through ruins of my old kingdom, seein' if any survivors migrated an' seein' if they need 'elp if I ever find 'em. Mostly I jus' end up starin' my glory days in the face an' gettin' depressed."

*... she laughs a bit, but it's in a good-natured way, really.*

Well, I thank you for being honest.

It's fine if you want to do that. Putting priority onto your claim-- your kingdom, even if it's in ruins-- and seeing if there is anyone still alive of it? That need you? That's admirable.

Personally, I'm of the opinion that one shouldn't squander what they had or have. And that includes if you want to dig up the past you had.

I'm just a girl who decided to go out on a coffee date with you, and perhaps wouldn't mind meeting up with you again, sometime. No commitments yet.

"I mean, I'm tryin' not ta. Squander it, I mean. I've got a plan, we'll see 'ow it pans out over the next... decade."

"Ah, I wouldn't 'spect there ta be any commitments, 'cept maybe ta dinner sometime later." He laughs, much more relaxed now that he's gotten the full story out there.

A decade sounds reasonable, to me. *finishes her coffee, giving a little sigh*

I think dinner sometime sounds nice.

"Really? Most people dun wanna think that long, 'cept people like me."

He grins at that, downing the rest of his coffee.

"A buddy o' mine owns a place 'ere, ain't ta far from down town. Mostly 'merican food, but there's a bit o' e'rythin' on the menu."

American food is fine with me, honestly. I'm not a picky girl.

Long as it's not bad, of course.

"It's a pretty good place, 'slong as it's still bein' run by the same folks. Thursday?"

[crystaline]

Thursday. I'm good with Thursday.
