Okay which of ya idiots 'round here was tapping into the Azure Flames? That stuff's not meant for any sorcerer or whatever ta go mucking 'round in. 's real dangerous stuff fer literally e'ryone who ain't me. People've tried and probably blown themselves up while I was takin' my nearly dying nap. I'm 'ere ta make sure ya city ain't on fire and maybe help put down whatever idiot's tryin' ta tap inta it.

It's late morning. The sun is shining, and there is a man on foot in Domino, cursing 'damned brats' and 'I left my bike in an intentionally safe place with boring people'. He's maybe investigating screams somewhere, that sound like a man being thrown through the sky. Or maybe he's just lost. The city got bigger and weirder since the last time he was here.

Geo is Gina now. She and I went fishing for her sister who may or may not believe she's the world-ending-serpent of norse mythology because she's an idiot. And we may have fought a completely differently fucked up sea serpent that WASN'T her and she awakened to the Azure Flame because she's your granddaughter and the rightful heir to it, unless I'm missing something obvious.
Anyway Suguru unjustly decided I was the one to blame for this completely forseeable turn of events and that's why I was hurling through the sky like that.

The only reason I don't have a pic of her is because she burned off all her clothes when she did and I am already in enough trouble with Suguru, I'm not dumb enough to hand her a good reason to actually kill me.

I'm willin' ta accept that I left a bit of me behind the last time I got enough duel hype ta manifest out of 'er, and that played with whatever the Ogre's genetics are, and boom, she's technically my heir. If I was gonna name anyone, yeah, it's 'er, I'm willin' ta accept that.
We both know that the Ogre's mom is my old flame. But the last time I saw 'er was 5000 years ago, give or take. Even fer spirit logic, that math don't add up, an' I ain't gonna accept that I am responsible fer the entire Briar clan.

Maybe it was just you manifesting using her as a conduit, but wouldn't have that activated by now if that was the case?
There's an awful lot of unknowns that make sense if you're a part of the family line somewhere and not just someone who randomly ran perpendicular to their whole mess.

'Cause yeah, it wasn't me manifesting through her. I felt someone else like... Imagine my fire's a mostly locked room that has me in it, and sometimes some idiot sorcerer tries ta tap in and ends up gettin' themselves fuckin' burnt ta ash. Cause, yeah, I don't think even being your like, Spirtual Wi-Fi Hotspot for however long she was would have given Gina this metaphorical 'key' to the Azure Flame. And even if it did, doesn't that imply she had some sort of uncanny affinity for the whole thing?

She always had a big ol' pyro soul, so that's why I thought it was easy fer me ta like, tap in. I ain't exactly the reflective type so I don't know what my own soul'd look like. Yeah, Gina's my heir apparent, 'cause Kaz took after Ennie and is jus' full on DARK and she's the first one that can claim that right. No one can dispute that, least of all me.
Problem is, Onni. I'm big shit from the ol' days. I can trace my lineage near directly ta Sophia an' Tierra, some o' the very first duel spirits. Ennie's prolly the first demon outta the depths o' the Makai or somewhere else, deeper in it. What does that make that entire clan?

I'll take the compliment where it's due - if nothing else that's what OOPARTS was for. Though now it's folded into Sector Security and I'm kind of the face of that. Just as much a shock to me as you, I promise.
Honestly, it'll be good for her - she needs a break just as much as I needed one, and it'll be good for her to rant to someone who isn't me about work for a bit.
...Not least of all because I think she's about one bad day from scoopin' her fiance's brains out with a spoon and, as up the wall as Evelyn drives me, I do appreciate her having a functioning brain with which I can bounce ideas off of.

Trena's got the counterbalance in Sophia, an' browsin' through shit seems that Kaz 'as another pair of little terrors who're weird 'cause he decided ta marry a Dream Witch. Stuff worked like that for alot of the ol' gods with a counterbalance ta 'em. I'm only like, a fourth but if we look, I'm seekin' counterbalance in relationships. Ennie, Marias, Esch. All an equal an' opposite o' me in some way.
The question comes ta mind, lookin' at the Ogre's datin' history, that ain't what 'e's seekin'. So where's 'is counterbalance?
